Process Grinding
Grinding is used to achieve surfaces with very fine surface roughness and narrow tolerances in metals. Surface grinding produces flat surfaces while cylindrical grinding produces cylindrical surfaces.

In grinding machines the primary motion (the speed) is achieved by a fast rotating grinding wheel which is made from very hard abrasive particles hold together by a bonding material. The secondary motion (the feed) comes from moving the part relatively to the grinding wheel.
