Process Laser beam cutting
Laser beam cutting can be used for cutting a wide range of materials and is characterized by very low thermal distorsions. Very small holes and narrow gaps can be made.

A laser beam is a very concentrated light beam. The light is monochromatic (a single wavelength) and coherent (all the waves are in phase). It is possible to concentrate large amounts of energy within a very small area.

Cutting is done by evaporating the material away.
Danish Name Laser skæring
Category Reducing processes, Cutting
Materials Metals Plastics
Typical products Oxydation flask
Bottle opener
References Hydromann as
IPL, DTU
Price notes Medium to high cost investments (equipment).

Variable cost are mainly energy and protective gas. Labour cost are low since CNC-controled automatic equipment is normally used.
