Process Airless spray painting
Very high working-speed method, suited for high-build painting and first coatings (high penetration capability.) The high pressures involved force the operator to work at large distances from the substrate, causing material waste and bad quality films.

The atomization of the paint is obtained bringing it at very high pressure by mean of an hydraulic pump, and releasing it through a little nozzle.

In order to combine good superficial finishing and high working-speed, air-mix spray painting has been developed. Air is used to help atomize the paint outside the nozzle. Good results but more complicated equipment.
