Material Honeycomb ceramics
Honeycomb ceramics have great mechanical strength, vibration resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, and are very durable. Furthermore, honeycomb configuration greatly increases surface area.

Honeycomb structures are mostly made of cordierite or mullite by mean of a precise extrusion process, which allows the production of various cell shapes and sizes.

Ceramic honeycomb structures are highly suitable as substrate for catalytic converters for automobile exhaust purification.
