In metal forming processes the material is shaped using physical force. Typical characteristics for metal forming is relatively high tooling investment, high production volumes, medium geometric flexibility and very little material waste. Parts produced by some of the metal forming processes (e.g. forging) are just like casting processes and powder processes called net-shape processes since they produce parts with the (almost) final geometry. |
